Better said 'Alive' ;)
I know there has been no action since I made my first post. I've so much to say but a lot less time to say, oops, type.
Presently I'm busy coding a media player for Linux/KDE4 during my off hours. It all started about a year and half or so earlier when Qt4 was released. During that time I was trying to do a skinnable UI for Noatun which could eventually compare to WMP or WinAmp. Things were looking good with Qt4 adding many new features, but soon I discovered that a UI plugin for Noatun was not sufficient for my purpose.
Alongside that, I was imagining a Linux based Media Center kind of box. At least one such project existed, but it was nowhere again WMC. So came the idea of doing a complete media player application which would do everything expected of a media player and a media center kind of box. Phonon & Solid of KDE4 gave enough support to my idea.
So, work was started on the project, code-named Gravity.
I've still not made a concrete list of features to add, but what I'll not do is anything related to TV tuner cards (except FM radio). Presently, the development is at a very immature state, and code is still based on Qt4. ATM only playback with playlist handling and some other things are working properly. I'm planning to run KDE4 next month after having a new hard disk. After that I'll do the port to KDE4. I might be able to do a public release (alpha, without skins) by the time KDE4 actually makes debut.
In the process, the code relating to skin part is lying in the dumps. Perhaps not for long, as there were some nice ideas, and code was working to the point that I's able to load some WMP skins.
On the other side, next month will also see my bike 'Gladiator' complete one year. I'm planning to sum-up my experiences about that also. So watch out for that too.
